This watercolor by Uli Ehret depicts a fictional racing scene. "&"In 1955, Dundrod hosted an extraordinary Tourist Trophy race for sports cars. It was Jaguar and Mercedes' preparation for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Jaguar introduced the disc brake to motorsports here, and Mercedes-Benz countered this technical revolution "&"and the associated superiority with the air brake β the rear cover of the Mercedes was positioned in the wind and acted like a parachute as an air brake. On the winding and narrow Dundrod street circuit, four weeks before the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Jagu"&"ar left all its competitors behind.
The lead is led by an Aston Martin DB3S, which is currently being harassed by Mike Hawthorn's Jaguar D-Type. On the crest behind it, a Maserati 450S is being attacked by the Mercedes 300 SLR.Β
