Stirling Moss leads Juan Manuel Fangio in the 1955 Italian Grand Prix. The two Mercedes-Benz drivers had dominated the season with five victories and the drivers' championship with places one and two. Moss retired at half-distance with engine failure, leaving Fangio with his fourth win and third world title. Fangio crossed the finish line on the high-speed track in Monza with his teammate Piero Taruffi in second place, more than 40 seconds behind the clearly distant third-placed Ferrari.
