The Jo Siffert / Brian Redman Porsche 908 leads the exciting three-way battle in front of the Ferrari 312P of Chris Amon and Pedro Rodriguez at the 1969 1000 km at the Nürburgring. Gerhard Mitter and Udo Schütz in the second Porsche 908 fight for the lead at the beginning, but later have to give up with bearing damage on the front axle. With rain halfway through the race, the Green Hell of the Nürburgring is making a name for itself again. Nevertheless, it was a special day for the Zuffenhausen racing cars: First to fifth place went to Porsche. The first sports car world championship title for the plant is a done deal.
