What would the American racing scene be without Ken Miles. In 1964 he installed a 7l Ford engine from the NASCAR series in the AC Cobra 289, which until then had "only" been powered by a 4.3l engine. The result was a terrible accident at first, but then the chances of success became tangible. The AC Cobra 427 was created with specialists from Ford and AC-Cars, which achieved 7th place in the 1964 Targa Florio - after 10 laps and 7 hours and 38.05 minutes through the Sicilian May sun, with Dan Gurney and Jerry Grant on Tax.
