Nürburgring 24 Hour Race 2018: After qualifying in the top 30, Manthey-Racing had qualified the #911 Porsche 911 GT3 R, the ""Grello,"" in first place and the #912 in sixth. On the very first lap, the #912 suffered a ti"&"re problem and had to pit. At the same time, the #911 continued to gain a larger lead over the rest of the field. At approximately 1:30 a.m., the leading #911 received a 3:32-minute time penalty for speeding in a ""Code 60"" speed-reduced zone. Romain Dum"&"as also flew off the track in the #912 in the swallowtail area on this lap, but he was able to brilliantly reclaim first place after a tough battle through the field. However, Nick Tandy caused a stir again in the early morning when the #912 spun in the H"&"atzenbach area. Shortly after 10 a.m. the #912 also received a time penalty of 3:32 minutes, also for a Code 60 offense. When the race was stopped at around 12 p.m. due to heavy rain, the #912 was in second place behind the #4 AMG GT3. The restart at 2 p."&"m. brought all the cars close together again. The gap between the #912 and the #4 AMG GT3 from Team Black Falcon was now just a few seconds. In an extraordinary rain battle, Frédéric Makowiecki at the wheel of the #912 was able to overtake the Mercedes at"&" the end of the start-finish straight in the Yokohama-S, whereupon the #4 spun after minor contact. The #912 maintained its gap to the Mercedes and the winners of the 2018 24-hour race were decided: Richard Lietz, Patrick Pilet, Frédéric Makowiecki and Ni"&"ck Tandy in the Porsche 911 GT3 R.
