With only 167 built examples, the "Short Wheel Base Version" is a beautiful rarity of the Ferrari 250 GT model series. It celebrated its first overall GT victory on May 29, 1960 in Spa-Francorchamps in the hands of Wolfgang Seidel and Willy Mairesse, who won the Tour de France for automobiles with Georges Berger in the same year with the 250 GT SWB. The 250 SWB Competizione under Fernand Tavanound and Pierre Dumay drove to class victory in the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1960, ahead of three other 250 GT SWBs. Stirling Moss used it to win the Tourist Trophy at Goodwood in 1960 and 1961.
