In 2005, Tom Kristensen clinched his seventh Le Mans victory in an Audi R8. Before retiring from racing, he will take his total number of wins to nine. Seven of them for Audi and six in consecutive years. A record that will be hard to beat. His Le Mans results overshadowed his success in other sportscar racing including six wins at the 12 Hours of Sebring, as well as in the Formula 3000 and DTM series. It was to be expected that this enormous success would bring him a large camp of fans. Especially from his native Denmark, where he was born in the market town of Hobro on the Jutland peninsula. After almost 35 years in motorsport, 25 of them as a professional, Kristensen retired from racing in 2014 and is now an ambassador for Audi.
