Tom Kristensen took his seventh Le Mans victory in 2005. Before retiring from racing, he would"&" increase his total number of victories to nine, six in consecutive years. A record that will be difficult to beat. His Le Mans results overshadowed his success in other sports car races, including six victories at the 12 Hours of Sebring, as well as in F"&"ormula 3000 and the DTM series. It was to be expected that this tremendous success would garner him a large fan base, particularly in his native Denmark, where he was born in the market town of Hobro on the Jutland peninsula. After almost 35 years in moto"&"rsport, 25 of them as a professional, Kristensen retired from racing in 2014.
