Certainly one of the most popular 911s is the 1973 Carrera RSR. A decade after its introduction, the 911's development had made great strides. In addition to its ""duckwings,"" the factory-modified RS came with a roll cage, fully adjustable suspension,"&" widened rear tires, and even a fire extinguisher system. The slightly enlarged, turbocharged 2897 cc engine developed 280 hp, which it delivered through a 5-speed gearbox. In its first appearance at Le Mans that year, the factory-entered RSR of Herbert M"&"üller and Gijs van Lennep took first place in its class and fourth overall. Another five privately entered RSRs took the checkered flag.

The standard format specifications mentioned indicate the outer dimensions of the stretcher frames.
