The red starting number 5 on Nigel Mansell's Williams Honda FW11B has shone on the nose of his Formula 1 car since 1987. The Williams was designed by Patrick Head and Frank Dernie the previous year to challenge the successful McLaren MP4/2. Mansell almost succeeded, finishing second in the Drivers' World Championship two years in a row.
