Ayrton Senna
The 1988 Monaco Grand Prix in the heart of the principality, known as the playgroun"&"d of the rich and famous, marked Ayrton Senna's breakthrough career into the top league of Formula 1 drivers. He was leading his teammate and Monaco specialist Alain Prost by 55 seconds when a barrier doomed him in his McLaren Honda MP4/4. With a little m"&"ore patience, he could have easily won, but he was so focused on his race that he simply couldn't and wouldn't slow down. Later that day, he said, ""I felt close to perfection.""
