Everyone knows the epic story of how Henry Ford took revenge on Ferrari's reluctance to sell by loudly "swapping" him in his "living room" of the Le Mans 24 Hours. Here is the car that did it - the GT 40, which had its origins in the design of Englishman Eric Broadley and was built in the English Slough. The 7-litre V8 powerhouse broke Ferrari's run of six consecutive successes at La Sarthe. The black painted number 2 with Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon at the wheel led two identical GT 40 to a triple victory.
