Porsche commissioned Carlos Abarth to design a closed, low-drag vehicle for Le Mans in 1960, based on their 356 Carrera. Turin's Rocco Motto produced twenty all-aluminum bodies known as the 365B Abarth GTL, one of which achieved class victory at Le Mans that year. Pictured here is number 20 getting race ready for Dutch driver Ben Pon just the day before the 1962 Tourist Trophy at Goodwood. He finished tenth. The Porsche truck displays factory support, near the prominent Goodwood clock tower in the background.
