Corvette has dominated the various GT classes in recent years, but not in 2012, when none of the C6.Rs made it onto the podium against strong competition from Ferrari and Aston Martin. The picture was different in the US, however, where the works Corvettes won the drivers' and manufacturers' titles in the ALMS GT.
