Although he started his career in single-seaters and even at three Grands Prix
participated, he is best known for his achievements in sports car racing.
In just his second season, he has already scored three wins –
all on different wagons – including the 500 km from
Zeltweg in Austria, where he had the pictured
Ford GT 40 piloted. Another success followed in 1968,
before his untimely death a year later
the RAC Tourist Trophy at Olton Park where he
drove the Lola T70 shown on the right.
