John Surtees, the only world champion on two"&" and four wheels, winds his red race car through the maze of hairpins in Monaco in 1966. The Englishman qualified for pole position but only held the lead until lap 16 before a gearbox failure knocked him out of the race. His closest rival, Jackie Stewart"&", who is taking the Mirabeau curve in the background of the picture, drove his BRM to victory in the principality.
