#1239 OR 'Le Port Royal

A French hotel on the Côte d'Azur. On a sunny morning, guests are having breakfast – some are departing. A Peugeot Q3 van is parked at the curve of the harbor promenade. A man is unloading coal. This coal comes from one of the two cutters waiting at th"&"e quay. In the harbor, a little further away, the Paquebot ""Flandre"" is waiting – a liner that in turn awaits its guests, who are taken to the ship in tenders. The couple on the left is getting into their sports car, which the bellboy had just fetched f"&"rom the secure garage.

A fictional scene, but one that could have taken place in the early 1950s. The harbor and the opposite bank are reminiscent of Monte Carlo or Nice.
