Between 1960 and 1977, 327,000 customers opted for the Giardinera version of the Fiat Nuova 500, which Dante Giacosa had initially des"&"igned as a small four-seater in 1957. The 27 cm longer version offered 800 liters of cargo space when the driver sat alone in the vehicle. Four passengers could comfortably sit in the vehicle for the time. In the watercolor, the Tuscan gardener has just c"&"ut and bundled the flowers for the market and conveniently placed them on the loading area of the Giardinera.

The standard format specifications mentioned indicate the outer dimensions of the stretcher frames.
