#0711 OR 'Jaguar XK 120

Initially, 240 Jaguar XK 120s, beautifully sculpted by Sir William Lyons, were planned. They were to be built with aluminum parts nailed to an ash frame—a common method of small-series body production at the time. However, with demand evidently high, a"&" total of 7,373 welded-steel convertibles were produced between 1951 and 1954, along with 2,674 ""Fixed Head"" coupés. The more powerful SE version of the XK 120 already offered 180 hp as standard. The XK 120 was followed in 1954 by the XK 140.
