In the pre-tests for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Alpine A470 with starting n"&"umber 35 was the fastest in the LMP2 class with a lap time of 3:28.146 minutes, and even achieved a time of 3:27.517 in qualifying. This made the LMP2 cars as fast as the LMP1 prototypes from 2000 to 2010. Nelson Panciatici, Pierre Ragues, and Andre Negra"&"o achieved a sensational fourth place overall in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, ahead of only Timo Bernhard's Porsche LMP1 and the two Jackie Chan Racing LMP2 cars. The #36 Alpine A470, driven by Romain Dumas, Gustavo Menezes, and Matthew Rao, was not quite as "&"successful. They finished tenth overall and eighth in the LMP2 class. Higher results had been hoped for from the Vaillante Rebellion, but the LMP2 category is always a hotly contested field. After a first-class qualifying time of 3:36.811 minutes and thus"&" fourth place in the LMP2 starting field, the driver trio Nicolas Prost, Bruno Senna and Julien Canal could not get beyond 14th place out of 25 vehicles in the race in their Rebellion LMP2 (Oreca 07) in the LMP2.
