Le Mans 24 Hours 1950
#11, Bentley Corniche TT, E.R. Hall / Tom Clarke
8th place overall, 4th place in 5.0 category
Yorkshire native Eddie Hall indulged his passion for motorsport thanks to the financial means and wealth of his family's textile business. In 1936, h"&"e purchased a Derby Bentley with the intention of driving it at Le Mans that same year, but the race was canceled. In 1950, already 50 years old, he returned to Le Mans to drive the now 14-year-old car solo for the entire 24 Hours. He remarkably finished "&"eighth overall, despite competing against much younger cars and drivers. A colossal success for a driver that secured his place in the Le Mans annals.
