Eric Broadley, who founded Lola Cars in 1958, was looking for a new project after the exciting challenge of developing the racing car that would make history as the GT 40 for Ford. The new CanAm series for Group 7 racing cars, which was launched in 196"&"6, generated great interest in him to develop a competitive car. Broadley's ""going against the grain"" approach produced the highly successful T70, which he developed with John Surtees at his side and which achieved overall victory in the series for Team"&" Surtees. Joakim Bonnier bought one of the ex-Surtees cars, painted it in his unmistakable yellow, and enjoyed success in the World Sportscar Championship. The ultra-lightweight construction, combined with raw American V8 power, produced the fastest and m"&"ost successful racing car of its era – one that still wins historic races today.
