This super sports car, built from 1963 to 1965, is the icon of the Aston Martin brand. Only 65 coupes and 123 convertibles were built, as well as twelve ""Shooting Brakes,"" DB5s with a special station wagon body. It is equipped with a classic 6-cylind"&"er Aston Martin engine with a displacement of 3,995 cc. This produced 265 hp. It was available at the time for 4,175 British pounds, which would be about 89,000 pounds today. For the James Bond films ""Goldfinger"" and ""Fireball,"" one of the four DB5s a"&"vailable for the film adaptations was equipped with fold-out machine guns, a smoke grenade launcher, an ejector seat, a tire shredder, a bulletproof windshield, and other special features.
