The Spitfire is still a living synonym for the successful defense of Britain against the German Luftwaffe during the war years of 1940 and 1941. Its outstand"&"ing maneuverability in cornering made it a strong opponent for the German pilots in their Messerschmitt 109s. Frank Holroyd, Harold J. Payn, and Joseph Smith worked on the development and further development of the legendary Spitfire at Supermarine from 1"&"930 to 1945.
