The impressive Mercedes W154 was developed by Daimler-Benz for the 3-liter formula of the 1938 Grand Prix season. Designed by Rudolf Uhlenhaut, th"&"e car was equipped with a 2,962 cc supercharged V12 engine producing 425 hp. The team finished first to third in the first major and important race, the French Grand Prix. Rudolf Caracciola, pictured here at the wheel, won the European Drivers' Championsh"&"ip, followed by his teammates in second and third place.
