The impressive Mercedes W154 was developed by Daimler-Benz for the 3 liter formula of the 1938 Grand Prix season. Designed by Rudolf Uhlenhaut, the car featured a 2,962cc supercharged V12 engine that produced 425 hp. The team achieved places one to three in the first, big and important race, the French Grand Prix. Rudolf Caracciola, here at the wheel, won the European Drivers' Championship, followed by his teammates on the courts.
