AC Cobra 427
Anglo-American collaborations couldn't have ended better than in the case of the AC Cobra. The first sports car to combine a lightweight and slender chassis with brute power. Backed by Ford, it was Carroll Shelby, the former Le Mans"&" winner, who led the transformation of the AC Ace. The Ace was an attractive, albeit underpowered roadster, built by the small English company AC Cars, which Shelby transformed into the powerful V8 Cobra that shocked the world upon its release in 1965.
