The legendary British marque returned to the 'House of Lords' at Le Mans in 2009 with a modified Lola chassis, but it wasn't until two years later that they returned to the starting line in two decades with the first fully in-house manufactured works racing car. Leaving aside the groundbreaking aerodynamic styling, the LMP-One will be remembered mainly for the spate of engine problems that plagued the 2-litre turbocharged engine during testing. When a solution couldn't be found before June, it was inevitable that both cars would fail. Even if the car never raced again, its inner cell formed the basis for the revolutionary DeltaWing, which competed at the Sarthe 12 months later.
