Innes Ireland's Aston Martin DP 214 comes under pressure from Graham Hill during the start of the 1963 Goodwood Tourist Trophy. A harakiri lap saw Ireland claim pole position, despite both his car a"&"nd Bruce McLaren's identical DP 214 being forced to use narrower tires than their Italian rivals. And over the 312-mile distance, this handicap proved too great: while Hill took the win, Ireland could only manage seventh place – after numerous spins.
