The TVR V8S was first offered in 1991. The outstanding feature of this 'typical TVR' was its enormously powerful 3.5 liter Rover V8 engine, which TVR had developed by Andy Rouse. In terms of acceleration, the V8S, or 400S as some called it, was faster than an Aston Martin Virage, a Lotus Esprit Turbo SE, or a Porsche Carrera 2.
